ControlByMail is a network app that allows you to remotely access files from your home PC and remotely control it, just by using simple emailed commands from wherever you are (such as your office or smartphone). This technique of email access has major advantages over web-based and cloud solutions: allowing access of your home PC from any email-capable computer or device (PC, Mac, Linux, tablet, iPad, iPhone, and even a borrowed smartphone). Email is also naturally immune to firewalls, proxies, port forwarding and other security lockdowns that may be present where you are, and therefore will work where websites are blocked or corporate firewalls prevent access. Now that\'s something special!

When you\'re away from home, you can perform all the following remote functions just by sending emails:

Download files and folders directly from your hard drive to you as zipped email attachments, without rejection (even executables).
Read and/or view websites wherever you are, such as Facebook at work, by having them emailed back to you as PNG images.
View snapshots from your webcam as JPG images, for your own security and peace-of-mind when you\'re away from home.
See images of your home PC\'s desktop to keep an eye on it, for example to see when an app is done, or what is going on.
Execute any DOS command on your home PC and have its output (if any) automatically emailed back to you to read.
Modify your home PC\'s settings by altering system settings (such as changing the Registry) and then rebooting it.
Launch applications on your home PC, such as to start a lengthy running task while you\'re away from home.
Quit running applications on your home PC, such as to free up PC resources after a task has completed.
Type scripted virtual keystrokes to the active window on your home PC, or send keyboard shortcuts.
Mouse movements and clicks can be performed with scripts, such as to acknowledge prompts.
Reboot your home PC remotely.
