The AmbiCom Wireless PCI Adapter combines security and design features of the PC Card with its desktop adapter. This package allows you to install the PCI Adapter and PC Card together, sliding the PC Card out for use in your laptop on the road. The WL1100B-PCI also includes AmbiCom's unique Windows-based Access Router (Win-AR) that allows the PCI Adapter and other 802.11b clients (e.g. CF Card) as an Access Router so you don't have to purchase additional hardware Access Router. The Win-AR is a software-based Access Router solution allowing the use of an 802.11b client (PC Card and PCI Adapter) as an Access Router. The Win-AR utilizes IP-sharing to provide multiple clients the capability to access the Internet. It is the best wireless solution for non-Ethernet broadband devices as it brings wireless AR functionality to USB and PCI Adapters, Cable Modem/DSL or internal/external V.90 analog modems.
