Microsoft IntelliType Pro 64bit Vista Driver Beta
Vista Support: Keyboard software IntelliType Pro
Important Details
Please read and print all installation notes and known issues for important details before beginning any software installation.
If you have a desktop set (keyboard and mouse set), you will need to install the keyboard software (IntelliType Pro) and the mouse software (IntelliPoint) in separate installation processes.
When selecting your keyboard device during Setup for beta software installation, please note that your device may be missing from the device selection list. Select another keyboard device to proceed; after installation, open Control Panel to select your device from the complete device list.
Your Microsoft keyboard and mouse will work with basic functionality when running Windows Vista™ prior to installing the IntelliType Pro and IntelliPoint software.
Connect your keyboard and mouse to the computer that is running Windows Vista to navigate through the IntelliType Pro and IntelliPoint setup processes.
Known Issues
Microsoft is aware of the following current issues for Windows Vista and is working to resolve them.
During Setup, the title bar refers to the incorrect version (appears as version 6.0 but it should be 6.1). This presents no issue for use or installation.
Some software features, such as keyboard Hot Keys and advanced mouse functionality, are not supported and may not work with applications running at elevated privileges.
During Setup, your device may not be found in the device list; choose another device from the list to proceed. After installation, you can open Control Panel to select any missing device from the complete device list.
When using the latest Microsoft wireless keyboard or mouse receivers (such as 27 MHz, and not Bluetooth® wireless technology), the screen saver will not be automatically activated. This primarily applies to the Microsoft Windows Vista Premium and Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate editions.
Bluetooth® First Connect wireless technology will not function when running Windows Vista.
The Windows Live™ Call button (found on some keyboard models) is designed to launch Microsoft Windows Live™ Messenger; in some cases, the Windows Live Call button may not immediately detect and launch Windows Live Messenger properly.
It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.
Do not forget to check with our site as often as possible in order to stay updated on the latest drivers, software and games.
Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed a wrong driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
