This package contains the LSI MegaRAID SAS 8888ELP Firmware Utility for the supported workstation models and operating systems.

PREREQUISITES:
To be fully functional, this SoftPaq requires that an LSI Logic 8888ELP Driver is also loaded. HP provides a separate driver SoftPaq for each of four Microsoft Operating Systems. Install the one that matches the operating system that you are running from the list that follows:
- For the Microsoft Windows Vista Business 32 Edition Operating System, use HP SoftPaq Number SP41797, "LSI MegaRAID 8888ELP Driver for Microsoft Windows Vista (32-bit Editions)."
- For the Microsoft Windows Vista Business 64 Edition Operating System, use HP SoftPaq Number SP41799. "LSI MegaRAID 8888ELP Driver for Microsoft Windows Vista (64-bit Editions)."
- For the Microsoft Windows XP Professional Operating System, use HP SoftPaq Number SP41800, "LSI MegaRAID 8888ELP Driver for Microsoft Windows XP Professional."
- For the Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64 Edition Operating System, use HP SoftPaq Number SP41801, "LSI MegaRAID 8888ELP Driver for Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64 Edition."
NOTE: Both the driver and firmware SoftPaqs are required for supported operations; however, there is no requirement about the order in which they are downloaded and installed.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
To create a bootable HP USB Flash Disk that can be used for the LSI MegaRAID SAS 8888ELP Firwmare Utility, complete the following steps:
1. Download the file by clicking the "Download" or "Obtain Software" button and saving the file to a folder on your hard drive (make a note of the folder where the downloaded file is saved).
2. Double-click the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions. Note the location where the SoftPaq contents are extracted (the default is C:SWSETUPSPxxxxx).
3. Open a command window (Go to Start->Run...->CMD).
4. Change to the directory where the package was extracted. For example:
cd c:swsetupspxxxxxx
5. Insert the USB key and note the drive letter that Microsoft Windows assigns to it.
WARNING: Step 6 will overwrite any existing data on the specified drive letter.
6. Create the bootable key with "mkusb". For example:
mkusb :
7. Close the command window.
8. Use the Microsoft Windows "Safely Remove Hardware" function that is located in the system tray to ensure that the drive is synchronized before removal.
9. Boot the HP Personal Workstation to this USB Key to use the MegaCLI Firmware Utility.
10. At the DOS prompt type:
fls_sas.bat
The updated script is executed and the new firmware is installed.
It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.
Do not forget to check with our site as often as possible in order to stay updated on the latest drivers, software and games.
Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed a wrong driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
