- Includes support for second source memory.
- Release adds back in support for resume from S1 that was previously removed in 1.6
The Remote Access Host card and Portal Firmware can only be updated from the Administration Web Interface. The process is very similar to the process of updating firmware on a wireless router. The same .all file can be used to update the host and portal. An administrator must have a management computer that is connected to the remote access network with an IP address that is on the same IPv4 subnet as the host and portal.
Follow these instructions:
1.Download R198391 onto the management computer.
2. Run the R198391.exe. A window will pop up with firmware files. The file you will need is tera1x00_rel1-7_v163.all – save this to the desktop or any other preferred location.
3.Ensure that the management computer is configured with static IP and on the same IPv4 subnet as the remote network.
4. Open a browser and enter the IP address of the Host card (Factory default 192.168.1.100) or Portal (Factory default 192.168.1.50). On the ‘Certificate error’ page, click “Connect Anyway”.
5.At the log-in screen, enter the password (blank by default).
6.Select the "Upload" then "Firmware" tab.
7.Select the webpage Browse button to browse to the firmware ’.all’ file and select tera1x00_rel1-7_v163.all.
8.Click the File Upload window Open button.
9.Click the Upload button.
10. Click the OK button on the ‘Are you sure? This will upload a new firmware image'. You will see a "This operation may take a few minutes’ warning window.
11. Wait for the firmware upload to complete. The following message appears when complete: “Flash successfully programmed! You must reset the device for the changes to take effect.”
12. The host card update will only take effect when the R5400 is restarted. The portal can be reset from the Administrator Web Interface.
13. IMPORTANT: If the host machine is running Vista 64: After reboot, re-open a browser and enter the host card firmware page (Steps 1-5). Ensure that the “Vista 64-bit Mode” is enabled. Reboot the host machine for “Vista 64-bit Mode” to take effect. This step is not applicable for portals or on host machines running any other OS.
Note: Dell recommends that both the Portal and Host have the same firmware.
It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.
Do not forget to check with our site as often as possible in order to stay updated on the latest drivers, software and games.
Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed a wrong driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
