Libev 4.03
Libev is a full-featured and high-performance event loop that is loosely modelled after libevent, but without its limitations and bugs. It is used, among others, in the GNU Virtual Private Ethernet and rxvt-unicode packages.Features include child/pid watchers and periodic timers based on wallclock (absolute) time (in addition to timers using relative timeouts), as well as epoll/kqueue/ports support, fast timer management, time jump detection and correction, and ease-of-use.It can be used as a libevent replacement using its emulation API or directly embedded into your programs without the need for complex configuration support. A full-featured and well-documented perl interface is also available.What\'s New in This Release: [ read full changelog ]· This release concentrates on bugfixes and API changes, not on major features.· Apart from making many function names more logical (while providing backward compatibility to libev 3.x), there are improvements in the documentation, a better minimal mechanism (you can now have a full event library with epoll in 5kb of code).· The majority of changes, however, are small to medium bugfixes in the core, the epoll, poll, and ports backend as well as many compatibility fixes and bug workarounds for systems as dead as AIX, kernel backends as broken as epoll, and PITAs as painful as Darwin and Windows.
